These brand new buildings opened to the public in April 2015 and visitors can have a tour of the buildings. The visitor centre is a concrete and steel structure clad with cedar and thick insulation panels and underfloor heating supplied by an air source heat pump. Visitors can also learn about the water cycle and water treatment processes in the visitor centre. The watersports centre is stell frame and a mix of concrete block and timber structure clad with cedar. The 434 acre site has plenty of things to do around the two miles of footpaths around the reservoir for walking, angling and sailing. Picnics can be enjoyed as well as waymarked walks. The Visitor centre contains a stylish café, shop and display area with panoramic views of the reservoir and watersports activities.

Getting there:

From Cwmbran/Pontypool, turn off the A4042, towards New Inn. There are brown tourist signs to Llandegfedd Reservoir. Follow the road up the hill, curve left past the Lower New Inn Pub, and after 200 yards turn right on the corner. After a further 100 yards turn right along Sluvad Lane. Follow the lane for about a mile, past the treatment plant at the top of the hill. The reservoir entrance is located on the left hand side at the far end of the dam.

From Usk turn left at the end of the bridge, and then after approx 700 metres turn first right signposted Llandegfedd. Keep on this road for a little over 3 miles until you come to the T junction in the village of Coed-y-Paen. Turn right and the reservoir is located on the right hand side of the bottom of the hill.
